looking down my neck either but I hope Mick that there are
quiet admirers out here that just want to say HEY!!!

Comments: I've only recently discovered
Uniquelyrourke, and I have to say it is a superb website!
Finally I can get up to date info on what my all time
favourite movie star is up to! I have been a fan of Mickey
Rourke's since I first saw him in Diner when I was about 16!
Since then I have hunted down every film of his I could find
(not always easy in Britian!) and I supported him
throughout. As I'm sure you know, as a Rourke fan you have
to put up with a lot of rubbish that people write or say
about him, and I have gladly banged the drum for Mickey
whenever he has been in the press. he is a unique actor,
without doubt the very best of his generation, and I for one
don't think he has ever turned in a poor performance. I love
the films he has made in recent years, I think he has turned
in some incredible performances like: Animal Factory, The
Pledge and Spun, as well as staggering lead roles in Sin
City and Domino. Anyway, I just wanted to say a big thank
you to Mickey, for all the years of joy I have had watching
his performances. He is an actor who can cheer me up
whenever I'm down just by watching one of his films. I am so
excited by the buzz surrounding The Wrestler, I think it
will truly put him back on top where he belongs, and I pray
he gets his first Oscar for this. I would love to meet him
one day, and I hope I shall. Until then please say thank you
to him, and let him know that he is truly...the man! All the
best wishes

Comments: I just finished watching Rourke's Exit In
Red, which actually has a good noir plot. periodically it
finds very special moments, some incredibly sexy, and then
the film looks like they didn't have the best continuity.
but the girls are absolute knockouts, and Mickey right after
boxing looks fabulous. In fact, they are many glamour shots
of him with his cool sunglasses on and off at his desk all
dressed up...Tommy Helfiger. Note Mickey's hot blue slip ons...The
soundtrack has great sax that reminds you of the sax playing
in Blade Runner, and you should watch the end
titles....something very special going on behind
them...really nice vibe...And I remember Mickey being given
a lot of pages in Architectural Digest, as he had an
incredible apartment fitted with rich exotic trimmings
mixing Versace and Leopard in a multi layered...well, let's
put it this way. When Mickey dresses all out, the apartment
still rules. Try to find the issue on ebay...Mickey wears a
green suit in it that looks like the fabric is twice as
thick as draperies. Amazing. I'd like to know, since we have
all heard that Mickey was not paid for the Wrestler, if he
has points in the film profits. I'd like to know if Mickey
felt that taking steroids for the film and before affected
his personality. I have some frame shots of Mickey that I'd
like to send you guys...they are classic looking...more like
something from Chinatown....let me know if I can attach pics
next time... I think this site is hip.

Comments: Hey ladies! I stumbled onto your site after
watching "The Wrestler" and absolutely lovin' Mickey in that
role! Then I remembered him in "Body heat", and went right
out to rent that steamy movie just to see him again! To top
it off, I watched the entire Charlie Rose interview -
clicked on the link on your site. It was so worth the time!
I loved his comments on his dogs, his therapist, and his own
inner work! Thanks for your site....I'll be checking in!

Comments: hello, this is a message from Europe. I
understood that you have the opportunity to meet Mickey
Rourke sometimes along your commitment to take care of this
great website. may I ask you to let Mickey Rourke know that
there are many Europeans who are really really happy that he
comes back to his incredible talent as actor. I saw the
Wrestler yesterday. I have few words to share: a great play,
un grand "Monsiuer"! He is exactly my age, my generation and
it was so moving to see that he is the same fantastic man
than 20-30 years ago, with the same grace and tenderness
although life has hurt him (sorry for my English!) I hope
that he will never stop acting and go ahead. Please, tell
him to take good good care of himself: we want him back for
very long!

again....wonderful actor and deserves all the awards and
recognition that he gets. Thanks Mickey! And thanks ladies

Comments: I just saw probably the most amazing
performance I have ever seen from any actor, living or dead.
I am a long time film aficionado, a film major with 2
degrees, and I use to run fine art cinemas way back when.
This film was the most beautiful piece of work for its
humanity, reality and true to life portrayal. Never has
anything been done like this on film, and never has any
piece of acting I have ever seen cut as close to reality.
There are moments when great actors get so close you cannot
separate them from their roles, but this was total
absorption. I have seen all of Rourke's films and waited to
see how far he could go, and now I know I have seen the tip
of his iceberg. I look forward to his future roles with
great relish, and all I can say, is "Well, done, Mr. Rourke.
Well done, and welcome back. I expect to enjoy more stunning
performances." I literally told my husband I was praying he
would win the Oscar, because if he does not it will be
simply criminal. Wow!

Comments: Hey Mick, we also enjoyed seeing the
interview on Charlie Rose. There's a lot of yourself that
you don't let us see. That's OK. Are you writing though?
It's been a great catharsis in my life on my journey of
self-discovery. We have a lot on common. I never had any
"one-on-one" with my Da. Had he connected with me
spiritually like that I would've been taught things I ended
up only learning the hard way.

Comments: I have always been fascinated with Mickey.
He just seems like a really nice/normal-real person to
listen to in interviews and stuff. If he was from my town in
Minnesota, we would definitely hang out with the same crowd.
I would love to meet him, party some, have a good time, then
he goes his way and I go mine, but it would be fun. If
Mickey should ever come to Minnesota..............oh yeah. I
seen on your site that his dog passed away-devastating for
him and my heart goes out, losing a beloved pet is heart
wrenching.

your dog, Loki. I completely and totally understand the
affection, devotion and attachment this your dogs. I have
three who live with me, sleep with me, love me, and are as
close to me as any human beings. our dogs are a part of us,
and we are so attached to them for their love, friendship,
acceptance, adorability and joy. My dogs have been the only
hugs I have gotten many days, and I would do anything for
them. I cannot imagine a life without them. My heart goes
out to you Mickey, and I will keep you in prayer for peace
and strength. Just know you deserve the best now, and I
believe you will get it. Keep your faith in God, your joy
and your heart strong. You have many great performances in

Comments: I have loved everything about Mickey for about
30 years. His only "flaw" is that he doesn't seem to date
women in his age range. I am 52, tall and slim, my face
resembles a thinner Jennifer Tilly, and people generally say
I look about 42, or younger. But even if I really was 42,
I'd still be too old for Mr. Rourke, so it seems! :-)

Comments: Hi, I want Mr. Rourke to know my wife and I
will keep him and Loki in our prayers. We do dog rescue and
one of our rescued Chihuahuas "Velveteen Rabbit" is the
poster dog for HB137, an anti cruelty bill currently under
consideration in Kentucky. She was rescued pregnant with her
left rear leg broken in three places. She has since had
puppies and we still have two: their names are Journey and
Love. HB137 is backed by HSUS. We have 12 dogs now and
recently lost one, JD in a horrible way. No matter how many
we have or how many times we go through it, every time we
loose one of our angels it's devastating. So please let him
know he is not alone and that others care. The only way I
get through it is, when I start to fall apart, I think how
my baby would not want that for me. I have not yet seen The
Wrestler but just from the clips, I have already been
touched. Mickey, you are awesome! You and Loki will be in
our hearts. And if anybody is reading this
guestbook...please contact the State House and Senate in
Kentucky to help HB137 pass. God Bless.

Loki. So many people just don't get it. I am in such sorrow

Comments: Dear Mickey, It was so sad to hear about
Loki's passing. I cried when I heard the news. I was
watching The View this morning when Barbara Walters broke
your sad news to her viewers. I lost my beloved Bishon
"Button" recently after a terrific 16 years with her. She
was my baby and my ROCK. She was with me for so many years
and was there for me while I waded through some of the most
difficult years of my life. I do not think it was possible
to love a dog so much. It is hard to explain, but Button
never really seemed like a dog at all...there was something
very special about her. She was with me while I embarked on
years of expertly guided self discovery (like you). Many of
these realizations were so difficult...and then at the end
of it all there was :Button" to comfort me, come rain or
come shine. I truly believed that she hung on so long
because she knew I needed her...and when I had done most of
what I needed to do, I believe she knew it and she felt it
was her time to go - -she was tired, ad she knew I would be
OK. Perhaps that was Loki's role with you Mickey. In
her own way, Loki knew that you would be OK and that you
were on your way to a brand new brilliant career and you
were ready to accept living your life without her. The only
difference is that now she will be up there bestowing her
blessings on you while looking down.....! A good friend of
mine gave me a poem that I lovingly adapted to my life with
Button. I have done the same for you Mickey..I am so proud
of you and wish you love, happiness and abundance in your
new life. In time your heart will heal and you'll have room
for a new Loki. I know, for in time it happened to me...

Comments: Mickey, I was so sad to learn Yoki passed
away. My heart goes out to you. I have a precious dog,
Prince, who is twelve years old and dying. People rarely
talk about losing a dog and it is heart wrenching. My dog
has been with me through the most difficult times in my life
and has given me more love than anyone else. He was
diagnosed in October with a non-malignant tumor and I almost
lost him then. I am an R.N. and have taken care of him every
day like a human being. My biggest fear is not being with
him at that moment when he leaves this earth. No one should
die alone and I hope I am there for him when the time comes.
I believe dogs are better than most human beings with the
loyalty and unconditional love they give us. They are the
greatest teachers of what true love (or should be)....You
will never forget the love Yoki gave to you. Ultimately, you
have become a better human being because of her love. please
know that others care and share in your sorrow. PS:
Congratulations on your Golden Globe. You deserve to win the
Academy Award for best Actor and you will win it for Yoki.
(If you do not win the Oscar, I will never watch the show
again. I will consider it a political sham.)

Comments: reading about Mickey's Dear Loki is as
heartbreaking as it would be to learn one of my own dogs had
died. It is certainly tragic enough to lose a pet you love,
but when you lose a pet that is really no longer your pet,
but has become the half that makes you whole, the despair
and helplessness you feel is truly immeasurable. Dear Loki,
along with the incomparable beau Jack the Great, altered the
course of Mickey's life, and taught him more about love,
understanding, compassion, and patience than any person ever
could have. The pain this man must feel is something I can
understand, but, not having had to face this yet, cannot
fully comprehend. I keep thinking about this coming Sunday,
and how I was so hoping the Oscar scenario would play itself
out: "And the best Actor goes to...Mickey Rourke!" After
which, we would have seen Mickey walk the podium with his
Beloved Loki in his arms, set her down on the podium, give
an acceptance speech completely off the cuff and straight
from the heart; wherein lastly he would yet again thank his
dogs for being such an important part of his life. Should
Mickey win the Oscar he deserves, regardless of what he may
do or say, I will always envision Mickey's winning moment to
have included his darling Loki in his arms and by his side.

are two men who have faced a troubled life, but have emerged
with the saving grace of our dogs Loki. I was faced with a
divorce after 23 years of marriage. I was close to losing
myself and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity
to buy a greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy. The timing was
perfect and this dog gave me a purpose and hope for the
future. My son named the dog and I thought it was a curse
(Loki is named after the Norse God of mischief & trickery).
She lived up to that name, but through all her antics, she
pulled me through. My heart goes out to you and your loss.
Please know that I am heading to the local humane society
today to make a donation in your dog's name. T all the
Loki's out there that help us through our troubles, we are
