enjoyed your website. I'm one of the many people who have
been laid off these past couple of months and your website
has made that time a little brighter. I've enjoyed watching
Mickey's interviews and
acceptance speeches throughout this awards season. It
seems as though he belongs to another time. The
kind of man
who you could take it all away from and he'd just get up and
do it all over again! With all that he's been through, he
should be proud that's the kind of man that he is. My heart
aches for all of his family losses especially his beloved
Loki. But I look forward to what the future holds for
him. An Oscar hopefully. Peace.

care for 11 feral adults and before we could spay neuter
they had 7 kittens. I rescued the kittens and tried to find
homes but noone wanted them so I kept them. My sweetest was
killed by a car. That was 6 months ago and I am still not
over it. He was just one year old-Taz, so I just wanted to
say how sorry I am for you and your loss of Loki. They are
so special, especially when you get to rehabilitate them and
experience the transformation and their happy spirits. Kathy

To

Date: February 18th, 09' User: Leon Comments: Hi there,I'm writing this in
Brisbane,
Australia. I don't generally visit celeb websites -
much less email the folks behind them - but there's a first
time for everything. I'll confess, I've only ever seen
Mickey in two roles (Sin City,
The Wrestler), so I can hardly count myself amongst
his diehard fans... but when I read the news regarding Loki
just now, I felt strangely compelled to get in touch and
pass along my condolences. What a heartbreaking loss - and at
such a pivotal moment in Mr. Rourke's life. There's
something almost poetic about the timing; the joy of
recognition (after years) from his peers for his
astoundingly fine display of craft, coupled with the sorrow
of losing his closest mate. I can't imagine how he's
feeling. If there's a positive (and there is to
everything), it's that the 18 years they shared can never be
taken away. That's forever, and it's priceless. If only Loki
could've stayed to meet Oscar a few days from now...Best
Wishes, Leon

Dear
Mickey I would like to let you know how much I
understand your sorrow in losing Loki . I have an 11 year
old Chihuahua who has heart problems and has been on med's
for almost his whole life. I got
Sparky
as a 8 week old puppy in 1997 only 2 months before my mother
died of cancer. If it wasn't for that sweet little face and
happy little
magical spirit he has I don't know how I could have
survived that. I would come home from a chemotherapy session
with my mom and there was Sparky to lift my spirit and help
me with my tears by just being there. I had always had a
rough relationship with my Dad and after my mothers passing
suddenly found myself his new best friend . He missed my
mother so much. I would call him checking to make sure he
was doing ok and found we had nothing to talk about except
Sparky. My dad loved him and I would take him to visit. The
adult relationship I found myself in with him was based
almost entirely around the dog. My dad passed 2 years ago 11
years after my mom and I owed the new friendship with him
all on little Spark. Animals are such a gift from God.
Mickey you where so lucky to of had Loki for 18 years I
only hope I am as fortunate as you where. I have cried for
your loss and dread the day it happens to me. There are many
people who are keeping you in there prayers myself included.
Love and peace to your heart Mr. Rourke ------- Carol

Fantastic site...for a great actor who should be remembered
for his fine body of work. I
have seen things men should not have to see, and I have done
things men should not have to do ...I have burred
friends and family and mourned over the losses of a
nation...but when my devoted Rotty of 14 and a half years
died in my arms..I had to tell my wife not to tell any one,
about me crying like a baby. That was 5 years a go and I
still miss him.
Mick, I
know how much you love Loki, and want to express my sympathy
to you at this time. Just remember Brother Loki's waiting at

his never ending love for his dogs. In my eyes, he is
perfect.I would love to meet him and his dogs and have him

Date: February 20th, 09' User: Pamela Garret Comments: Iwant to share my own sadness and
send my condolences to Mickey at the passing of his dear,
sweet Loki. I lost two of my beloved companions last year
(they were 19 years) and still haven't gotten over it. I
don't think we ever really do. I still dream about them and
sometimes seem to feel them jump up on the bed in the night.
They were my children and I miss them terribly. I, and
anyone who's loved and lost a dog or a cat (or any companion
animal), knows the devastation Mickey is feeling now. The
pain will lessen, and the great memories will remain, but
the hurt never completely goes away. I have sent
contributions in Loki's memory to PETA's spay/neuter program
and to the
Humane Society of the U.S. I hope Mickey's fans who
are able to will send a donation to the
animal rescue organization of their choice. It's the
best possible way to remember Loki and honor Mickey. Pamela

I lost my Spike a year ago Sept. She was a beautiful,

too died in my wife Lisa's arms. I miss her every single day
as Mickey will Loki. We put Ripple on by the
Grateful Dead as we wept and buried her. As we
walked away from her grave thousands of migrating
butterflies settled into our back yard. It didn't ease the
pain, but it was a beautiful way for us to remember
Spike. Good luck to Mickey and his other pets.I've still got
Audie. He's a shorthair Chihuahua we named after
Audie Murphy because he's little but he's tough. All

away and wanted to send my sympathy to Mickey ... these
little dogs are amazing ... they truly are lionhearted and

We have them because they are loyal, loving and steadfast
... and sometimes when you feel alone in this world, they
keep you going and remind you that they still love you! I am
so sorry Mickey ... I know it's going to feel raw for a long
time, but just know that she'll only ever be a thought away

effective, passionate, talented actors Hollywood has ever
been fortunate enough to sign. I am looking forward to

I held her in my arms until she passed. I will never forget
that look she gave me before she died. A sad look as though
she were saying..."I will miss you"...andI miss her to this day. I now have a
long haired Chihuahua named Pooky. she's almost a
year old and is so loved and very spoiled, as are my Persian
Cats! Thank you for taking the time to read my comments.
There will be no doubt that Mr.

Date: February 22nd, 09' User: David Comments: Just checked the website through and it's
fantastic -- nothing less than the great man deserves.
Fingers crossed he pulls off the Oscar tonight -- the
greatest actor of his generation, it's a long time coming
but it wouldn't be
Mickey Rourke if it was anyway else. I notice he
received a lot of letters at the death of Loki. Is there any
mailing address available that will actually get to him as I
would love to write to him, pass on sadness for the loss of
Loki but hopefully congratulations for the Oscar win
tonight, here's hoping....Great work everybody -- and here's
to Mickey -- all the best for the Oscar, 'man. Anyone else
think that the passing of Loki is kinda symbolic in that
she's saw Mickey through the bad times and now well and
truly back, maybe she sensed he was ok now, and it was ok to
leave him and go to sleep? -- Dogs sense things. Maybe she
sensed he was back where he belonged and even though he
still needed her, she knew she could leave him and be in
peace... Sleep well Loki...All the best Mickey --

the depths of your soul. May your life SOAR!
Date: February 22nd, 09' User: K Comments: Hey
Mickey, I'm a young girl of 21 from
Germany
so I’ve missed all the things you might have done or not in
the past. I just saw some of your films, the first one was “Rumble
Fish” and I thought “wow, he’s such an amazing actor”
and of course “there’s something in his eyes you really
can’t describe in words”. Now, because of the
Oscars, you can read a lot about your life in the
magazines and of course about your changed appearance but
why should I care about your private life? They’re all so
pleased with themselves in Hollywood that they accepted you
back into their society that you’ll probably win the Oscar,
because
Hollywood can celebrate itself once again. But I’ll
keep my fingers crossed for you that you’ll win it tonight
just because you deserve it for your work. So just keep
going as I don’t consider any other actor as a replacement
for you. The “new Mickey” is as fascinating in his movies as
the old one.

just
wanted to let Mickey know that there are others who have
only their dogs or other animals as family. I grew up in an
abusive house but credit my dogs for keeping me grounded so
to speak. I don't have a real family relationship with my
two legged relatives. If it wasn't for my dogs I dont know
where I would be right now. I am really sorry to hear of
Loki's passing. I just lost my horse of 23 years on
Christmas day so I have had a recent loss of
consequence. But I used his passing to help other
horses. The Horse Haven of Tennessee rescue organization has
moved onto our property so we can help other horses who
don't have the lives they deserve. I know the pain is raw
but you will see her again some day along with all the
others you have loved so much. I wish you the best. God

How
impressive was she interviewing you -- tres chic.
I
didn't really know much about you before today; however,
after having heard your
answers to Ms. Walters' questions, I saw a new light.
Me,
I'm an
odd bird, who was already too bright at age
three. Upon completion of eight
years at an Irish Catholic parochial school, I was ready for
real life. Of course, they
made
me attend a public high school at which I didn't learn
anything earthly that I
didn't already know.
One of the poignant things that struck me most in tonight's
special was the boxing
discussion -- reminding me of my father and his daughter (we
were both born on the same
day). He remains the toughest man I ever met. Henrico R.
boxed in the CCC camps and
picked fights everywhere, whether or not some family member
might be in tow.
Recently, upon the too many years' anniversary of his death,
I made an unconscious
decision to witness it first hand. For the record, I'm
quite petite. That made not one
iota
of a difference in my choice to antagonize a taller male
friend into a competition.
I
walked away from it with a few bruises, contusions, and a
lot more understanding and
pride. Knowledge gained is to me always a gift presented.
My
sincere wishes are with you for a possible win tonight and
the continuation of what
you
have already shown is your great spirit.
It
would be an honor to meet, which I am sure would be true.
p.s. The dog interactions and your description thereof were
off the charts!

Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Julie Comments: Dear Mickey, We don't know each other but I
became a fan of yours because of your love for your dogs.
And your wearing the pendant of your beloved Loki. I am so
sorry for your loss Mickey. And I wanted you to win the
Oscar. I waited all night to see if you did and turned it
off after you didn't. I want you to know that I have been
through what you have been through. A "breakdown" of sorts.
A wonderful therapist got me back on my feet. Never give up
on yourself. You are worth the effort because effort pays
great dividends. Don't ever give up on becoming a happy
person. Stay as you are and never give up. Love your dogs
and strive to have a life with
simple pleasures. Don't worry about not getting the
Oscar.
Hollywood was not there for you when you were down
and
Sean Penn's 15 of fame will be over soon for the
Oscar win. Hollywood will move on to something else. God
loves you, Jesus loves you, your dogs love you and I love
you.
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Tina Comments:I am livid
at Mickey not winning the Oscar. My hubbie is industry here
in LA, and we received the MILK Screener awhile ago, and I
thought without question is was one of the most inferior
performances of his buddy Penn. Penn was right in his
acceptance speech, and what my husband said was true,
"Rourke deserves this more than any actor I have ever seen,
but the gay community will make sure Penn wins." And Penn
was right, they are "commie loving and homo loving" voters,
and did NOT vote for the most remarkable performance I have
ever seen from any actor. Rourke won the Oscar as far as I
am concerned, and I do not care who they voted for, I know
the Mickey won that award, and Penn even knows it. Rourke
was robbed, robbed cold. But screw them, Mickey, just keep
making extraordinary films, and do what only you can do, and
they will, even though they are mindless and have a social
agenda, be able to ignore you anymore. The reason NO ONE
hardly watches the
Oscars anymore is because the average person is
sick to death
of the politics involved that they cannot relate to at all,
it is rarely about
true talent
and great stories, it is about what social agenda is running
the Oscars. So, Mr. Rourke from an avid moviegoer, a writer,
and a film aficionado, I congratulate you on the finest
performance I have ever seen on film. You got robbed
tonight, but screw them all, and keep on making films and
giving performances that that haunt me for weeks and days,
and that I will truly never forget. God bless you,
Mickey Rourke. To retaliate for the Oscars tonight, I
will go on Amazon.com
and buy all of your movies. That will help ease the pain, I
think.
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Jocelyn Comments: I have always admired your work. I am 41
years old. Female, mother of three great kids. Separated
from the most ethical, integrity holding, honest man that I
love to bits still. Separated for four years but still not
giving up. He is also the most negative, life sucking man I
have ever met. Yet I know in my heart, and also my four
years separated that there is no
better man
out there. I, on the other hand, have reached multiple
times the place you suggest, that you no longer wanted to be
here but suicide is the chickens way out. I agree. I would
like to say that for most of my life, I was an
Olympic
swimmer, athlete,
role model,
physically stronger than most females and admired by
many. Today, I am weak, apathetic, no role model to anyone,
hoping for that motivation that will get me kickstarted
again. How did you find it? Our lives are not that
different and I would appreciate your input. Your input, not
your staffs. They didn’t live your life. You did. I am a
registered psychologist, dr of
traditional Chinese medicine, mother of three great
kids, ex athlete, and no psychopath. I just relate and need
help. Serious help.

could still be. Look at old JACK!! Keep that in
mind!! With a very confused and sometimes
defensive personality because of my up bring, I've made it!
Now at 52 and a very busy
entertainment
manager with 2 children that have given me 4
grandchildren that make everyday worth while and give me a
chance to change what could have been! And able to chance
my past!! WELCOME BACK!! LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT
MOVIE!!

to hear about Loki. I got 3 dogs and I love em. Coco is 14
and I try to keep her healthy and happy and enjoy her as
long as i have her. a man who loves his dogs has to be
something special. I saw the Wrestler last week and was
blown away. I have liked Mickey for a long long time and I
am so happy with his personal and public success. xo Lana :)

wanted to let you know I've been a big fan of yours ever
since I saw Bullet on cable back in 97. As someone who grew
up in
Brooklyn, that movie really grabbed at my soul...and
there was nobody who could've played your role like you did.
I really wished you and all your costars the best...I was
very pleased to see Adrien Brody win an Oscar a few years
ago. I was so sure it was your day to win the Oscar. I think
it was mostly politics that got in the way. Even Penn seemed
a bit surprised you didn't win. On the bright side, maybe
not winning will keep you on your toes and give you
something to continue to strive for. All the best.
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Ray Comments: I was hoping you would of won tonight. I
have Chihuahua's and we have a litter coming soon & would be
glad to offer a pup to you in the spring. I know it won't
replace your Loki, no pup will. I do know the
Chihuahua puppy will love you. They make my wife who
has MS very happy. I would be glad to spread the love to
you. Be well, Ray
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Susan Kerry, Seattle WA Comments: Mickey may not be leaving the
Oscars
with the gold statue but, he is sauntering out with his head
held high, an army of fans and the love of his friends.
Truly a story well told. I am looking forward to his future
work. His raw sexuality and the honesty he brings to the
screen will keep all of us coming back for more. His
interaction with
Barbara Walters was touching, tender and human.
Allowing us to see his vulnerability, was endearing and
refreshing. Mickey is back and the world is a better place.
He is my inspiration.
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Susie Payne - Smyrna GA Comments: I was cooking dinner when I heard him say
that & I was really touched by that - was quite saddened for
him by that news. I have a beloved orange/white tabby
cat-girl (we rescued each other!) who means the world to me
& I know how I'm going to feel when she "has to leave me."
Mickey's comment that "she stayed with me as long as she
could..." was truly touching & I hope he feels that Loki saw
him through some of the worst of his times & when she did
finally have to go, she knew that he'd gotten through all
that & now he would be alright again. It's absolutely
wonderful & I'm so happy that he was holding his "special
little girl" in his arms at the end of their loving time
together. Mickey's openness & honesty on all the various
interviews/shows I've seen him on when discussing his
troubled past & the struggles he's endured to get back to
where he is now have left quite a lasting, positive
impression on me. I realize he's had to "sell" his
"comeback" partly via his story, but I've genuinely FELT it
for him! I was really hoping Mickey would win tonight, but I
understand/accept why his friend,
Sean Penn, won. (I believed it when I heard Mickey
say if Sean won, he'd be happy for his friend! The
next-best thing to HIS winning, I guess!) I wish Mickey all
the best in his future, in both his professional life &
personally!! I pray that he keeps his footing on his long &
winding (& often narrow & lonely) path he's thankfully taken
& that he enjoys yet ANOTHER successful & fulfilling acting
career!! And I pray he will find lasting happiness totally
apart from his work, if that's what he'd like to have in his
life. A last word directly to Mickey: Remember who "Man's
Best Friend" IS!! Choose your 2-legged friends VERY
carefully; some might not be as altruistic in their
attentions to you as your loyal 4-legged companions!! (&
don't go "overboard" with your spending!!--one never knows
when the next big paycheck OR long, dry spell might come
along! Spend/invest wisely! -- The "ANTI-drunken sailor on
Saturday night" spending mode/program seems like a good way
to go! ("haha!") Best of EVERYTHING to Mickey!!!

I am
sad Mickey didn't win. But in the long run, he's lucky,
because usually Oscar winners are out of work for a long
time after. Mickey
is MY winner and
Best Actor,
and has been for 30 years or so.
He
lives around the corner from me, and I am going to drop a
note of thanks in his mail slot, for all the great work he
did on screen in the past, and encouragement for all he will
do in the future. How many years did
Scorsese
go w/o an Oscar? And many other GREAT actors never even got
a nomination! Mickey is blessed! He is GREAT, on and off
the screen, and he was nominated, and he IS RESPECTED by the
critics (who all said he deserved to win), and the Method
people in Hollywood and NYC (like me). I will always
respect and admire him. And he looked gorgeous in his
Goltier suit!!!

I watched your
interview with
Barbara Walters ...... that was fine !!! and open
and transparent !!! I watched THE WRESTLER yesterday. I
believe you should have won that Oscar !!!!!! Best wishes
to you for future plans......
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Jacquelyn Comments: I never thought
Mr. Rourke was gone from the screen forever....just needed
to take a detour for awhile and work some things out. With
that much talent, searching for an appropriate piece to
display it with the passion and integrity he intends can't
be easy or readily available in a business that shoots for
the
big buck. Of course, he is still one of the sexiest,
fashionable men (with attitude) of our time. He's got the
look!
Date: February 23rd, 09' User: Lindsay Comments:I hope this
gets to the big man – I totally understand how he must be
feeling about
Loki - I lost my 10 year old cat Zoe last month
suddenly and am absolutely heartbroken, she was my baby, and
I still cant quite believe it – I’d do anything to get her
back– hope Mickey can take some comfort from knowing that he
gave Loki an amazing life and all of his love and care, she
will be with him in his heart and his dreams always
