hope this gets to the big man – I totally understand how he must be feeling about Loki - I lost my 10 year old cat Zoe last month suddenly and am absolutely heartbroken, she was my baby, and I still cant quite believe it – I’d do anything to get her back– hope Mickey can take some comfort from knowing that he gave Loki an amazing life and all of his love and care, she will be with him in his heart and his dreams always X

Comments: I am so glad Mickey is back. I've raised two teens telling them about Mickey Rourke being my favorite actor but have had nothing to reference to when they've asked well, what movies to does he play in? Now I do. Thank you so much Mickey. Now my two girls know why I love you so much. "Angel Heart", is my favorite. You play such a good "bad" dark character.

Comments: I don't know how else to get a message to Mickey, but maybe you all pass them on to him somehow. First of all I wanted to give my condolences about Loki. I know that dog was his family and I'm really sorry to hear of his loss. Second, I would like to tell him how happy I was to see him at the Oscars and on the Barbara Walter's Special beforehand. He seemed to be doing well. I appreciate his always total honesty and his undying spirit, even through rough times. He should have gotten the Oscar!!! Please tell him he is great and his fans are still here. Hang in there Mickey!

Comments: Just a quick note to send heartfelt condolences to Mr. Rourke over the recent loss Loki. The passing of a pet is no less painful than the loss of a human loved one.  I still get teary-eyed thinking of my own dogs who
have gone on to wait for me at Rainbow Bridge (one has been gone 26 years now, and the other only 4 years).  My most sincere thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Rourke.

I'm not very good on the internet but I became a Mickey fan after seeing the Oscars so do you know howw to convey this message? Dear Mickey, I haven't sent a fan letter since seeing Rock Hudson in "A Farewell To Arms" in 7th grade. However, I felt compelled to let you know that you have two new fans-me and my sister. As a longtime Flight Attendant I was passing thru LA on Oscar eve and had conversations with several people attending various parties. Your name came up frequently and mostly positive. I was happy when my sister invited me to watch the Barbara Walters' and Oscars on her new HD TV. You were GREAT! Your conpassionate, spirtual side shone through and of course women love that you know. My condolences on the loss of your beloved pet,as I can't bear the thought of losing my dog "Boogie Bear" someday. I haven't seen The Wrestler yet but plan to soon. Keep up the good work and know lots of people are pulling for you because you are a WINNER!!!!!.......From one dog lover to another.....Sincerely

As I watched the Oscars last night I was terribly disappointed that Mickey did not win for his performance in “The Wrestler.” Although I think Sean Penn did a great job in “Milk” I felt Mickey blew away the competition with his portrayal. I have such respect and admiration for Mickey and the way he turned his life around and has returned to the film industry. I first became a fan after watching “Body Heat” and followed his career from then on. I missed seeing him during his time away from films and I am so happy to see him back on the scene. Congratulations on his acclaimed success in “The Wrestler” and I look forward to great future films from this very talented actor. I also wish to offer my condolences on Mickey’s loss of Loki. I know how a loss like that affects you as I have been through it myself. Best wishes to Mickey and Rock On!

Comments: Hi, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my sincere condolences to Mickey. During the Red Carpet show last night I watched as how the loss of his pet, Loki, affected him. He was all-go until Ryan touched on that subject. Mickey explained how deeply it affected him and almost lost it as he told his story. Most dog owners understand the influence they can have on a person. That is one tough bridge to cross.

I just wanted to say what a great actor Mickey rourke is and always has been. I have a lot of respect for him, he pulled himself up and back on top after 15 years.  I also admire his love of his animals. I also am an animal lover. My husband of 29 years passed away from pancreatic cancer. I had to put my 13 year old sheltie to sleep just weeks after losing my husband. I immediately went on petfinders and adopted my little "buddy". I am so thankful to this little guy because he saved my life. I know I couldn't have gone on without him. They're such good friends..always happy to see you. He's the most loving little guy (6 pd apricot poodle). I'm sorry you didn't win the award last night. I thought you would. I felt you deserved it. Anyway, Mickey..stay strong, keep acting and bringing wonderful movies to us.

I am so glad that he is back and look forward to more great work. Well done, from another ex-boxer, budo Mike

Hey there, nice site! As someone who trained for a bit at Outlaw gym (and later at Freddie’s gym on Vine), hung out a few times at Mickey and Joey’s, had Mickey’s personal assistant Bruce R. as my upstairs neighbor, crossed paths with Mickey a few times and admired him and his work from the get-go…please pass on my heartfelt congratulations on his achievement with “The Wrestler” and my warm and enthusiastic “Welcome back!”  Also, my condolences about Loki; I know how hard it is to lose a member of the family like that, and our pets truly ARE members of the family. And lastly, I appreciated Mickey’s comments on Eric Roberts, agreed wholeheartedly and can’t wait to see those two working together again. I was disappointed on the Oscar decision but hey…

Mark in San Diego here, I watched the Oscars last night for the first time in 30 years because of Mickey Rourke. The phony world “ Hollywood ”  types live in stands out clearly when Mickey Rourke is around and visible. I liked him from the start because he is a “man” and it takes one to know one. At 56, a Vet., a Father of Daughters and have been around the block a few times I recognized Mickey for he has always been no matter if he was successful or not so successful, he is honest, tells it like he see’s it and most importantly does not apologize for being a Man with desires and faults. I wanted him to win last night and I believe that the Oscar was STOLEN from him by a film academy with an agenda. I am pretty sure Sean Penn knows damn well that Rourke deserved the recognition more than he did! I tried all day to find a way to write Rourke, I have never tried to contact a celebrity before, this as  close as I could get, so if you can’t tell me how to give him this message myself, perhaps you could forward it on to him for me? Tell him that Mark in San Diego says, BULLSHIT! You were robbed by sissy punks and every single Man out here that has to work for living and has two balls knows it, good thing about it is this Mickey, you’re back to stay and the next time you walk in for Oscar night, you’ll be leaving with the little dude in your hand. Fucking assholes, I’ll never give Sean Penn another dime!

I just wanted to let Mickey Rourke know he has another fan out there cheering him on.  I am 48 and have MS and have gone through a lot in my life that when I see someone as talented as he is and what he's gone through he is just more of an inspiration to all of us.  The dogs are always my truly comforting factor in my life because of the unconditional love they always show us.  I do have children but the dog is always happy to see me even when I feel like crap.  So again here's to you Mickey and you deserved the oscar along with Sean Penn. Take care and have a great life - you deserve it!

Comments: Well, Mickey took the Oscar win this better than I did. I fully believe the academy awards are merely a political win now, and have nothing to do with talent this time.  I saw all of the male performances, as we received screeners of them. However, I went to a theater to see Rourke's performance of the Wrestler which haunts me to this day. My husband is industry out here, and he cautioned me that Penn would win because of the politics alone of the gay community and super-uber liberal politics involved in Hollyweird.  This makes me ill when talent and performance is not the reason for a win, but merely the subject matter of a film or role. Penn was correct in one respect when he thanked the "commie and homo loving sons' of guns" because that is what they voted for. They did not vote for the best performance, because in all honesty, even Frank Langella's performance was better and more powerful than Penn. Penn was not believable in that role and at times, seemed terribly uncomfortable in that role, which I had never seen in him before. It was NOT one of his best performances. MICKEY YOU WON. You did, and anyone that does not have a political agenda knows that!  It is all over the net, Dear Mr. Rourke, we know you got robbed, we believe you got robbed, and will await your next brilliant performance. They cannot deny you forever, your brilliance and talent will win one day.  I will, to make myself feel better, go to Amazon.com and order every single piece of work you have done, because everytime I see a performance of yours, I feel satisfied.  Satisfied that I know the performance is real, but I never know you are acting, and I never know where you begin and the role ends.  You, dear Sir, are amazing! God bless you. Thanks for your humanity, and honesty. Do not change, please.

I would just like to send my sympathy to Mickey in the loss of his dear Loki. I have a dear chi named Harley. He is my first little chi dog and has added so very much to my life. I bought the poor little fella at a flea market!  He was just a tiny little pup being handled too much and it just broke my heart!  I was a lonely person in many ways until he came along and filled my life and lap with love. I guess the best we can do is know that we give them the best lives possible while we are here. Good luck to you in the future.

Comments: Thanks ladies for making this forum available for us fans. I have had almost 24 hours to absorb the shock of Mickey not winning the Oscar. Initially I was irate...but the more I think about it the more I hope this will be a good thing for Mickey and us, his fans. It would have been terrific to see the culmination of this incredible comeback end in an academy award. However, the Globe, the BAFTA, the Spirit and many others really tell the tale of what an incredible performance this was. Yet, I truly believe that the best is yet to come. As a fan of yours Mickey, I will always remember the Wrestler as the role that brought you back into our lives. I anxiously await a future roll that will be remembered as your first Oscar. I'm a 39 year old and have been an avid fan since the mid 80s. It is hard to explain the amount of pride that I feel every time I see a new interview or press piece that truly shows that not only are you a world class actor but also an incredible person. I am so happy that this crazy industry finally seems to be giving you the credit you deserve. But even more impressive is what appears to be the self realization that you hold the key to your happiness not only in show business but in your personal life as well. In your Barbara Walters interview you mention that the Oscar would be great but "you can't eat it, you can't fuck it and it won't get you into heaven." Wonderfully put, and I would be willing to bet my ass that when you pass through those pearly gates it will be with an Oscar in one arm and as many dogs as you can carry in the other. Just as you have expressed that you feel very lucky to have been given a second chance, I know I speak for millions of your fans when I say we feel very lucky to have you back. The last 6 months or so have been an incredible ride. Thank you Mickey for letting us take that ride with you and we look forward to the next one. God Bless

I would just like to say that Mr. Rourke's performance in The Wrestler was amazing and I strongly feel he was cheated out of an Oscar. When and actor brings his audience into the character's life in such a way that makes you forget who the actor is and you only see the character, feel such compassion for that character, and a true sense of the characters personality, that actor has achieved greatness. Sean Penn although a wonderful actor, was merely playing a role in a very political film. It wasn't really Oscar worthy. I look forward to Mickey Rourke's  next film.

Ciao ragazze! Ciao Mickey. I have been waiting for some days before writing after the death of your Loki. I wanted to find the right words to tell you how much I am sorry. But then I have understood I cannot. But I perfectly know how the situation is sad. At the beginning it is a deep and constant pain without consolation. l shared many years of my life with dogs and cats and still own 6 cats and a little dog, Ronny, adopted in june 2008. One of them, Eddy, my little dog, died last year. He was about 19 years old. We met not so far away from my house, he rested in a street angle; it was in 1992, during the Easter period and he was already about 3 years old at that time. I have almost spent with him 16 years of my life and on 14th  February 2008  I  had to surrender  and to put him to sleep; it was  the worst day in  my life. Eddy was been next to me during hard times, I had problems with job and private life. The evening before his death I  concluded a matter that had been going on for 10 years; and I spent so many nights without sleeping for the worry... The following morning Eddy felt that the problem was solved and he  made me understand that he had been nearby me as long as he could but he was suffering too much, it was time for him to rest, completely satisfied  to have done his assignment well, and  he made his choice on Saint Valentine Day. Mickey, even if you cannot caress or see your Loki anymore,  she is always with you, for sure. I watched the Oscar Award assignment on tv until 6 am., yesterday morning. You looked very sad, obviously. I am so sorry you have not won the prize; it could give you some joy despite the loss of Loki. I hoped so, you deserve. You will have many opportunities in the near future. Loki and all your dogs are next to you to help.

Mickey,  I was so sorry to hear about Loki’s passing. My heart aches for you. My 18 year old kitty passed away last year and I was devastated. She had diabetes for 10 years and it was an honor for me to give her the injections that she needed every day. She was with me when my husband died in a car accident, without her I don’t know if I would have survived. She needed me more than ever and we grieved together. On a lighter note I just rescued 3 kittens from the same litter (couldn’t separate them!) and you will love their names: Max Baer (all white), Rocky Balboa (all black) and Dusty Rhodes (all grey).  Hard to believe but Dusty is my bad boy (really lives up to his name)! They are my joy. You deserved the Oscar, you were magnificent.  But you’ve got your Golden Globe and your award from the Brits!  I’ve been a fan for years and I’m so glad you’re back!  Hang in there, man, the best is yet to come!!

Comments: Hi Steph & Heather. I'm a new Mickey Rourke fan in the UK. As in 'straight out of the plastic' new! It's obviously all down to the Wrestler......I saw a trailer for the film whilst watching some half assed movie & thought, 'Why not?'.........next week I'm seeing for the 4th time before it ends in my area. Not only did it touch me like no other film ever has, but I totally empathised & connected with Randy/Mickey......I put it like that because I honestly couldn't separate the two. Never has one actor become so much 'that' character on the silver screen. I half expected when I logged on to your site that Mickey would have long bleached blonde hair.......that's how in depth his portrayal of Randy was to me. I've never been one for watching the BAFTA's, but I just had to..........and I have no problem in telling you that I burst into tears, when Mickey go the top prize......again, that's how much emotion had been building up inside me since I'd seen the film. As for the Oscars, well I stayed up until 5am into the morning to see Mickey denied. Yeah, Sean Penn's acting in Milk was probably very good (I haven't seen it), but I just got the feeling that someone somewhere was trying to teach Mickey a lesson for past misdemeanours. I mean, let sleeping dogs lie, right? And how the Wrestler didn't get nominated for best film is another bloody thing!! I'm not gonna go for a full synopsis of the film on here.....suffice to say it is the best piece of celluloid I've ever clapped eyes on & pretty much has one of the best soundtracks too.......jus a sliver of AC/DC in there and it would have been perfect! I had to Google my ass through a lot of BS sites, before I ran into yours. It's wonderful. It tells it exactly like it is. No beating around the bush & it's run by real fans. People who care. So thank you so much. I log onto it every day and have really enjoyed the updates on the Mickey Rourke Realm. I so bloody wish I had known about the premier of the Wrestler. Just to have said, 'Well done Mickey', would have been an honour. It's shown to me that Mickey is a fine actor and even though he might not have walked away with an Oscar, he is a winner in his own life and he's BACK........with a BANG!!! Enjoy your weekend, ladies.

I have read that Mr. Rourke is looking at adding a new pup. I know someone that is looking for a home for their Chihuahua.  I don't know how old it is or any details but it needs a home fast. They were going to dump it at an animal shelter but I believe instead it is being fostered by someone. It is in Minnesota currently. I do hope that he gives some thought to a rescue dog versus one from a breeder or worse yet a pet store.

I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies in the death of your "puppy". Over the years, I've had three that have died--a female of literally old age, 2 males of prostate cancer. Actually, I had all euthanized. I can still feel your pain, even tho' the last ones (brother & sister) kinda ruined me for all others. I haven't been able to find myself with others for about 12 years. Hang in there. The pain will pass; I hope & believe the memories won't.

Comments: Hey Micky, just want to say that I hope you don’t let the politics of Tinseltown have a negative effect on your storybook rise back to the top. No, you didn’t get the gold statue the other night, but keep in mind that while Sean (with all due respect) turned in a great performance in Milk, your performance in The Wrestler was both physically and emotionally of epic proportion. That, coupled with your personal story, most definitely should have brought you the top prize. Maybe in a perfect world it would have. But remember this, my friend; years from now people will still be talking about your resurrection and your performance of a lifetime while trying to remember who actually won the Oscar that year. I believe there’s a reason for everything….perhaps this is a sign to slow down a bit and take it all in. After all, this is only the beginning of your second act. You rock, Mickey! I'm truly sorry about Loki. With love...

Mickey Rourke, you  got rooked out of the Oscar!!! I saw both Sean Penn’s role in Milk and Mickey Rourke’s  role in The Wrestler, and there is NO comparison. So, Mickey, if you are reading this, I’m sure I am just one of thousands who believe you deserved the Oscar! I also wanted to say that your love of dogs is SO touching! I have grown to love dogs more than most humans I meet.  I am trying to open a dog hotel here in Naples FL, and would love to have your stamp of approval!  I want to make sure it is a facility that is the perfect spot for dogs when their owners have to travel, but also a business that gives back to the community and supports as many dog charities as possible! Welcome back, Mickey!  Looking forward to watching many more of your movies! Regards....PS:  “wags” to you from my two adopted dogs Snoopy and Lucy!

Comments: Hello Ladies, Well first of all let me start off this by saying how much of an inspiration Mickey is to everyone out there. He has overcome so much strife and heartache in the past decade alone, that most people would be going crazy after. He is simply a wonder to not only myself but anyone who needs an excellent role model to look up to. After watching "The Wrestler" and being a long time wrestling fan, his performance in this film is simply astonishing. He portrays the character well, and it also gives you alot of insight of what a professional wrestler goes through on a daily basis, so with that being said, well done Mickey, thank you! I never realized just how special of a person Mickey was until I started doing my research on him, and he is simply an amazing actor and most of all person. He is a very good looking guy with a good head on his shoulders, and sure he's had some rough times, but who hasn't. I always say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I am also very sorry about his dog Loki, I understand how it feels when the pet you have is the only person/thing you have and are your comfort and they will never judge you or look down on you. They will always give you unconditional love and sometimes thats better than what any human can give you. So Mickey, So sorry about Loki. So as I close, I'm addicted to Mickey and can't wait to see what he does next. I'm also hoping for an appearance for him somewhere...*hint hint*...lol The site looks amazing, and is now officially bookmarked. Keep up the good work ladies and have a great night!

Thank you for the movie The Wrestler. I am a retired female wrestler and this story needed to be told so badly. You are amazing in this movie. But hey I loved all your work. You are an amazing actor. Thank you so much for doing what you do so well. Also I am a big animal lover. I am so impressed at how much you love your dogs. Please make more movies because you have really touched this girl’s heart and I need to smile more.

Mickey, I am so sorry about the loss of your dog, Loki. I completely and totally understand. Animals especially animals that are close to hearts keep us going. They give us the inner strength we never knew we had. God Bless and Keep the Faith!

Comments: Tell Mickey there are a lot of us out there that know what moves him. Been there too, I'm his age, with the fucked up childhood, violence, parental divorce at the same age, lost a younger sister to Cancer, and I'm Irish, wild imagination, very creative, "half crazy" and like the stupid lonely helpless pets too. I saw the movie, and cried when "he" was trying to bare his ass-soul to his "daughter". Really Great stuff. A great movie by a tough and sensitive guy. I have a very close relationship with my younger son, Lucas, currently out in Hollywood studying music, and I have a sadder, somewhat remote relationship with my older son because I was not able to be open and bare my ass with him when he was little. Counceling, etc...Yessirree! Been there. We're working on it...I saw a lot of myself in that role you played...and it was hard to see that stuff brilliantly portrayed and clearly too close to yer own bones up there. Anyway, If any of this site is half real, pass it along and tell the Brilliant SOT I'll buy him a beer anytime anywhere just for making the effort to be do a face up and be honest about himself, not easy in a stinking corrupt world when you are smart and creative and uncompromising. Nice work, Mick. And welcome back to the industry. Boxing is tough, and you gave it yer best. What more is there? Luke wanted to go to the NHL, but wasn't quite there...He's cool with that. Maybe he'll write your NEXT big soundtrack song? An unknown...right? ps. YOU deserved that stupid statue, instead getting rear ended over some unappropriately placed "industry statement" about defining "marriage" & Prop 9 for G&L's. At least Sean got the thing. Globe, BAFTA, Independents, etc. And, good luck with the new pooch thing. Good years w Loki. He was there for a reason, so don't go and blow It! You'll make some lonely pooch very happy. Animals understand big, strong, sensitive types. Be good, enjoy this, & relax. Life is Good. pss yer stand up for Roberts was The Balls. Absolutely. Call about that beer.
