If the Skinny is a not quite up to par tonight - I’d like to say sorry in advance. It’s been a long day. Lots of behind the scene uniquelyrourke drama, involving a group of Russian Rourke fans who don’t particularly like the way we do things here on our website and have slammed uniquelyrourke and mocked us on several different occasions - on their live journal. I’ve been really good about ignoring them but since Mickey has been in Moscow they’ve had this Russian hard-on to try to prove they are superior males and we are just two ignorant American women. We’ve taken the high road and said whateva!!! But after today we have had enough.

All I have to say to the certain Russians out there who posted on their Live Journals that we are not Official and that Mickey doesn’t have a Fan Club - is this: you are correct. Mickey has NO fan club. What the fuck!! Mickey wants no part of a fan club. Hells Bells, we could have told you that. Pfffff!!! Besides Heather and I aren’t running a fan club. You guys are the only ones that want a damn Mickey Rourke Fan Club. When Heather and I first heard about this incident from another really good friend of ours in the UK - we couldn’t believe what we were reading. Heather had just been in LA a few weeks ago and was at a private party with Mickey and friends after the Oscars - everyone from David to Mickey’s lawyers and other celebrities - thanked us for the great job we have being doing on uniquelyrourke and really appreciated it.

Upon reading this and getting nasty emails - we sent an email to a certain someone about what Mickey allegedly said in Moscow, about not having an Official website. And here is the response we got back this afternoon. “Don’t worry about it, he was saying he wasn’t interested in doing one himself.”  

Heather and I have said what needs to be said. We are over it. We don’t have anything to prove to anyone. We’ve always known that you can’t please everyone. So, if you don’t like the site - don’t come over and take info from uniquelyrourke and put it on your journals. 

Shit Outta Luck
Okay, I’m getting emails from folks wanting Mickey’s personal address and email - so they can send him letters, cards and gifts..  HELLO!!!!  It ain’t happening!!! :)

Please DO NOT send stuff to Mickey’s agent - David Unger. Fan mail is not part of his job description. Many of you have informed us that over the years you have sent mail to David and you have received no response. DUH!!! If you haven’t gotten a response in two years, I think maybe you should get the HINT.

 Did Ya’ll Do Your Homework?
On Friday’s Skinny I mentioned Danny Bonaduce. A few weeks ago, Heather and I got an email with a subject line that read  - Multiple shout outs to you on THE DANNY BONADUCE SHOW.  When I first read it I was like - what the fuck? Honestly, it was one of those blow your hair back and call me BITCH moments. To say it was surreal is an understatement, due to the fact that only a couple of weeks prior to Heather going to LA, we had a discussion about Danny and how we dig him, because he is so in-you-face, truthful, and funny. We both thought HBO should give him some kind of live show format or some shit. Heather then asked me “What is he up to?” I said the last I heard he was during radio. Then we started acting like silly gushy girls ~ Heather says, “Aah, that’s so cool” and I responded with “Yeah, I’m so happy he has a job.” Etc etc. After reading the email I immediately called Heather. When she answered the phone - I go “You’re not gonna fuckin’ believe this shit.” She goes “What! What!” “Did you finally get laid?” I go “HELLO!!! Umm, Miss Smart-Ass have you?” Then we start talking smack about how we need to meet up and have a munch muffin party, cuz we aint’ getting’ none.  (Buhahahaha!) Anywho, I finally got around to reading her the email and her response was “SHIT!! We were just talking about him a few weeks ago.”

Here’s the deal:

A chick by the name of Amy Railsback sent us the email. She is Danny Bonaduce’s manager/producer/girlfriend/Jill-of-all-trades, furthermore, she and Danny are HUGE Mickey Rourke fans. She sent us the email to let us know that Danny has mentioned uniquelyrourke several times on his radio show.. Woohooo!!! Hell yeah!! uniquelyrourke got pimped over some major airwaves. Words can’t describe how much we appreciate the shout-out!!!

You can give The Danny Bonaduce Show a listen - Mornings (6am - 10am) on 94WYSP(FM)  Philadelphia. Also give Danny’s site the hairy eyeball. There’s a lot to look at and it’s easy to navigate. As ya’ll should know, Heather and I are anal about easy navigation (lol)

As I’ve written in the past, I grew up watching wrestling. And I’ve stated I’m not (that) into the WWE. When I get the chance to watch wrestling (which is rare) I watch TNA. I keep up with wrestling news via frequent visits to a couple of my favorite sites. Much to my surprise, a few days ago, I read a diddy about how Danny will be stepping into the six-sided ring. He’ll be wrestling on TNA’s next pay-per view Lockdown on Sunday, April 19^th. For more info go to TNA.

On Oscar’s night Mickey was a wearing some bling on his pinky finger. It was a skull ring designed by Juliette Booker of SoHo Hearts. The story of this ring first came to me from our long-time Dutch Rocker friend Raymond Stolp. He told me about an encounter with Dutch fashion reporter Fiona Herring and jewelry designer Juliette Booker had during New York Fashion Week on February 16^th. The ladies were having lunch in Cipriani Downtown and Mickey came over to sit next to them. Fiona said to Juliette, “You’ve got to give him a ring and Juliette gave Mickey a skull ring and he was happy with it. And then Mickey said he would love if Juliette made a brooch of the love of his life, Loki.  Several days after posting the story, Heather and I received an email from Peter Schotvanger, a Media Manager in Amsterdam, saying that Juliette Booker requested photos and a link to the skull ring be sent to uniquelyrourke. The skull rings are mighty fine. Go check out the goodies at SoHearts. Ooh, Heather and I saw a couple of pieces of jewelry we’d like to have. For instance, I’d like to have the Skull Ring and Peace Sign earrings. (Both in silver) Heather what did you want? ( ooooh wishful shopping? Hmm, I'd hook up with the pop art butterfly bracelet, the silver gun & key necklace, and the grey star scarf with the silver star earrings...I dont want much huh? LOL) And the best part is the prices are reasonable. At least we think so....  Thank’s Ray ; )

When asked about his visit to Moscow - Rourke said he was enjoying the city and compared his trip to that of fellow 80's idol Tom Cruise, who visited Moscow several weeks ago with his movie Valkyrie. When asked what he was doing during his trip to Moscow, Rourke said: " You don't want to know! I had a good time, the vodka, the women - you know - I don't sit in my hotel room like Tom Cruise, believe me!".

2) Soho Hearts - On the February 18^th Skinny titled uniquelyrourke Site Visitors Rock!!! Our Dutchie friend Dr. Raymundo Stolp (he’s not that kind of doctor) told me the story behind a ring that was given to Mickey by jewelry designer Juliette during fashion week in New York a few weeks back. This bit of news was relayed to Dr. Stolp by Dutch fashion reporter - Fiona Hering. I have more to add, cuz we heard from Soho Hearts.

Pssst Dr. Stolp, when are you going to send me your all natural remedy for the nasty cough I have had to endure over the last few weeks. You mentioned something about me sticking a thang down my throat?? (weg)

 Mickey Does Russia -
  We were told several days ago about Mickey’s visit to Russia. He went over to the Big R - to premiere The Wrestler. The visit hasn’t gotten any press here in the states. Aaah, I wonder why?  Hmm, before leaving New York for the Russia, Mickey was hush-hush about what was going to go down during his stay. We have some idea. Unfortunately, our lips are sealed. Could it have anything to do with his new role as - the Russian Villain in Iron Man 2. Ya never know!

 Speaking Of IM2
  The name of the Russian Villain that Mickey will take on is Whiplash. According to Variety - Mickey met with director Jon Faveau and was invited to help develop his character, a hybrid of comic book staples - Whiplash & Crimson Dynamo.  For those of you asking me how much moolah Mickey is banking for this role ..HELLO!!! Do you think Mickey called me and said “Steph, I’m getting mega dough for this film. Take a guess at how much Marvel is laying on me. Come on. Guess. I fuckin’ dare you.” Duh! You’d be wrong. Here’s the deal - The exact amount has not been released. But the cool news is Mickey’s working for a major studio and it’s been years since he has done that.

Listen, I’ve been honest about my knowledge of Iron Man. I’ve told ya’ll before I’m not going to blow smoke up you ass’s - claiming I know what the fuck - I’m talking about. Luckily, in our kick ass yahoo group The Rourke Round Table, we have folks in there who know all about this genre and they are educating me and others on “The Table”.

 The Expendables
  The cast continues to expand. Charisma Carpenter (Angel) & former WWE Pro Wrestler Steve Austin has joined the cast. The film is slated to begin production on March 28^th in Brazil - then move to New Orleans in late April for 2 months.

 Passion Plays
  Is a new film that has Mickey’s name attached to it. The movie will be written and directed by Mitch Glazer (The Recruit & Scrooged). Here are a couple of facts: This indie-drama has yet to be written and there is no clue as to what the film will be about. When I heard about this film - I went to a creditable source to nab some concrete info. This is what I was told – “It has yet to be financed”. I’m not saying it won’t be. I think when this deal goes through it’s gonna be awesome, however, Rourke fans need to take this bit of news one step at a time. Hello, it not like it’s going into production in the next month or so.

Mitch Glazer is married to actress Kelly Lynch - who- co-starred with Mickey in Desperate Hours. Mitch and Mickey go back a bit further. Miami to be exact. His mother, Zelda Glazer was Mickey’s English Teacher. Unfortunately, Mrs. Glazer died in an automobile accident in 2006.

Here’s what Mickey had to say about her in an November 05' -Interview Magazine article titled Mickey - conducted by Rourke friend, Julian Schnabel,

JS: Your English teacher was the person who got you into movies, right? MR: Yeah, Mrs. Glazer. She showed me the first movie that I ever saw, A Place in the Sun [1951].But at the time, being 18, I wasn't fascinated at all by Elizabeth Taylor. I was fascinated by Montgomery Clift, and if I had been in the boat with him, I would have drowned Shelley Winters, too [both laugh]. Anyhow, she showed it twice in class. I was in B-level class for underachievers.

This film been confirmed by the “Man In The Know”

  Mickey Rourke was the star of one of the steamiest movies of the 80's, 91/2 Weeks, but I think we all figured his days of hot romance were over. But an Oscar nomination can do funny things for a man’s career, co Rourke will be joining Alice Braga and Vincent Cassel in 11.  Braga, who has made a career of playing mysterious hot women (I Am Legend, Blindness) gets the lead that this time, playing a girl who swears off romance after being betrayed by a lover. She then somehow winds up a high-priced hooker, with Cassel playing a music exec who gets her into

S&M, and Rourke playing the manager of the sex club. Hany Abu-Assad, who directed the acclaimed Palestinian Paradise Now, will helm the film. The international cast and literary source makes the whole thing sound pretty classy, even if it is about, uh, a sex club.
