We’ve been asked several questions about what went down
behind the scenes when Heather was on the set of “The
Wrestler”. For some reason peeps have a real
nose problem about how well Mickey worked with the
other actors & wrestlers on the project, especially
actress Marisa Tomei. I’m gonna deflect
that question to Heather cuz there was talk going on
among the crew members. Heather ~ you’re on.... Wait.
Before I hand you over to Heather.. I gotta state for
the record....Mickey Rourke has NEVER
commented on what it was like working with Marisa
Tomei - so I reckon ya’ll are gonna have to
wait until Mickey speaks ( if he ever does) on the
subject - Okay Heather, you’re ON!!! (Heather here…no
comment…I don’t want to put words in anyone's mouth or
repeat anything that was told to me in confidence.
Sorry!)
OMG!!
As usual people wanna know where Mickey is hiding out.
We can now tell ya - that Mickey doesn’t hide out
(you just have to know where to find him) & that Mickey
has been back in New York for sometime.
Just as when Mickey was in Los Angeles a couple of
months, we knew about it before it hit the press.
But as we’ve always stated, we will never
divulge anything about Mickey or where he is,
until it hits the press. You must understand our
position, Mickey’s friends wouldn’t appreciate us
ratting him out, nor would Mickey. We will always put
what HE wants first... never sell him out
to achieve any notoriety - for being the # 1 web site/Myspace
in the whole wide world, global, universe blah blah
blah.. Can you believe that an actual web site owner
claims that. Yeah right.. And if you believe that,
then you’ll believe Heather and I flew to New York
and had dinner with Mickey last night.. Buahahaha!
The
Informers
The closest I’ve heard of a release date for this
flick.. is from Entertainment Weekly.. The web site is
spitting out the month of Nov 2008. Of course that date
is not set in stone...My motto on the SKINNY since the
get go is .. Take all this with a grain of salt, It’s Hollyweird.. It can change in a blink of an eye....
The
Pussy Speech
I’m always getting requests for that damn speech Mickey
made in the movie SPUN... While we’ve had it on the
Skinny in the past, due to popular demand, ( I’ve always
wanted to say that... lol) Heather’s gonna YOUTUBE it
again. . Dig It!!!(Heather here...Hallelujah! Isn't
that speech the fuckin' truth! Amen to that Mickey!)
That’s A Wrap, or
Is It?

Heather and I officially work off LA,
New York and Miami time.. Honestly, it took some getting used to. You
can get a phone call or a text anytime of the day or
night. I won’t even bring up the oversea’s time frames.. OMG!! We are on a wild and krazzy ride and lovin’ it. If
you only knew!!!
Until we meet again.....

“A performance of a life time”
August 14th, 08'
Those
are the words used by Film Society’s Kent Jones
to describe Mickey’s performance in his title role in
“The
Wrestler”. Whadda I tell ya!!!! Woohoo!!! Is this
not mega cool or what?
Hold up a minute. I didn’t just pull that quote outta
the air. I’s got’s more mega cool shit to throw
your way. Umm!! Cough! Cough! Umm. (in my best
non-southern twangy voice) I’d like to pass on the
good news...
The Film Society of Lincoln
Center
Presents
The 46th New
York Film Festival
Sept 26 - October
12 2008
It
was announced today that -The centerpiece film
will be Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling”,
while, Darren Aronofsky’s film “The
Wrestler” will close the festival. To read more
about the festival and the write-up on “The Wrestler”

HERE
OMG!!
This is such bitchin’ news for Mickey -another
prestigious film festival he will be attending or at
least he better be attending.. Hahaha!!! I’m just giving
him the business. However, I can’t see him missing it.
Can You? It’s his time to shine and promote Aronofsky’s
movie - a film - I’m VERY sure he is proud
to be a part of...
(FYI - I feel the need to say something before I
continue any further cuz it may seem like I’m giving all
the credit to Mickey and we all know that wouldn’t be
true. It takes lots of folks to bring a movie to
the big screen. Hence, without Darren Aronofsky,
writer Robert Siegel and the hundreds of
behind the scenes camera peeps, hair and make up peeps,
all the way down to the food peeps, this shit wouldn’t
be happening. Honestly, the semantics of what went down
that lead Rourke to being tapped for this role after Nicholas Cage tapped out.. is something that
has never really been discussed at great length.
I just felt the need to say this. In no way do I want
anyone to think - I’m not giving credit where credit is
due.)
Links Over the
last several days - we have been getting requests to
have our links placed on other web sites. As Heather and
I have both previously stated, there is only one Rourke
site we are affiliated with and that
LaShane’s Creations
- home of Mickey Rourke Walls. We will be glad to give
your site a look-see, however, if we see any other
Rourke sites on there we are going to have to decline
your invite. We have some really positive stuff
coming our way in the next several weeks and we don’t
want any negative bullshit from those tuna’s. They have
put us through HELL!! Spreading lies, thieving from
uniquelyrourke and involving our families to name just a
select few. We just can’t be associated with them.
Heather and I have no problemo with
spreading & sharing our good fortune with others, but
you have to understand our position. I would also like
to convey to the sites that have already written us...
we have checked out your sites and will be in touch...
soon!!
Tidbits uniquelyrourke
is looking forward to makin’ our Myspace page public
in the near future. Per a request by a
certain someone, Heather and myself have created a
profile for Mickey’s dog Loki. If your hip to the
whole Myspace thang, or just an animal lover in
general, slip us a friend request
HERE and tell us ya
came over from uniquelyrourke! Just a note -
we never would have taken on another Myspace
profile unless this person wanted his dog represented by us.
YAY!!! Yes, there is another Loki profile on Myspace. I’ve
seen it, wouldn’t you know it’s got tuna’s all over it.
Needless to say, the profile didn’t take off - no one
has logged in since Aug 07' (at the time of this posting) .
The good news is, Mickey’s friends and many
rescues are on the page. The bad news, it private. For now!
It’s a really cute page and it reflects Loki
and Mickey’s love of his dog. We had complete freedom
to design the profile with the exception of 2
specific diddy’s this fella wanted on the page. Of course,
we abided (wink, wink).
Lately, I’ve been asked
about the past Skinny’s that have been posted
over the last 3 years and will they ever reappear on
the site cuz many peeps new to uniquelyrourke are kinda lost
when it comes to some of the stuff I write about. Well, the
answer to that question is YES!! Heather will
be archiving the Skinny’s. I’ll keep you updated on
the progress, it’s a huge undertaking.
Ooh,
it’s 1:30 am and I need to get this Skinny to Heather so she
can post it. Look for more soon...
This
ole girl is going to play a bit of Mobsters - then head off
to bed...
Happy
Vampire Dreams

Steph
Fay Fay Go Away
August 22nd,
08’
Don’t know who Fay
is? HELLO!! This bitch is a tropical storm and she
is pounding the shit outta us here in the
panhandle state. Rain, winds and flooding, it’s
KRAZY here in O-Town. Thank God my palace on wheels
is withstanding the all the elements I’ve listed...
Woohoo!!!
Onto the latest
about Mickey... Are you ready? Cuz there ain’t much
a happening right now…but that will end soon
*wink* wink* YAY!!!
There Is
Only One Sure Thing In This World.... We Are Gonna
Die One Day!! ( LOL….that’s not a shock to any of you, is it?
Buahahaha)
Ut - oh I forgot
to mention The Wrestler is gonna be a part of
the
Toronto International Film Festival ~ Sept 4-13 2008 ~ I’ve been asked if the big
guy is gonna pop up at the festival. Here’s the
deal -
From what I
hear Mr. Rourke is gonna make an appearance. Always
keep in mind Mickey’s presence is subject to change,
as most things are in this life. Shit, something
unexpected could arise and he can’t make
it... nothing in this world is a for sure thing.
Listen, ya’ll
gotta know that Mr. Charisma’s fine ass is
gonna be showing up at some of these festivals. As
Variety stated in a recent article “The
Wrestler is one hot ticket” Also, Mickey
always shows respect when it comes to promoting
a film. Fuck, this just ain’t any film, this is THE
FILM that may garner him an Oscar
nomination. At least that’s what some of my
friends in the industry are whispering in my ear.
Wouldn’t that kick fuckin’ ass!!!!!
uniquelyrourke?????? Ya know, a lot of
folks are asking us how we came up with the name
uniquelyrourke?
When we first
started kickin’ names around, Heather and I knew we
weren’t going down the Mickey Rourke blah blah
blah road. Heather and I wanted it to be
different. We knew that the site had to have a
name that fit both how we perceived Mickey and
embodied the direction we were going with the site.
For instance, it was going to reflect our
personalities and it was going to be over the edge.
No Posers & No Phoniness ~ 2 things we know
for a fuckin’ fact Mickey hates. It's
like he has a 6th sense, in other words his bullshit
detector is razor sharp. Over
the last 3 years the more we have learned about
Mickey, the more we’ve realized that we hit the nail
on the head when we named this site
uniquelyrourke. Mickey is truly a unique
individual. He has charisma by the shitloads,
he's a fuckin' riot, he's a great story
teller and he's gracious. Now don't get me
wrong, we aren't putting him on a pedestal, yet you
have to give the Big Guy credit when credit is due.
After all the negative bullshit that has been
written via the media and by so called Rourke fans,
we have found either you like Mickey, or you don't
like Mickey, there is no gray area. So all you
hosers out there, fuck off.
When Heather hung
out with Mickey a few months ago she said “you
can just sit around and talk with him. Be yourself.
Say whateva the fuck you want. He’s laid back, easy
going and you don’t have to edit yourself.”
So, there have it.
Well, that’s it for
tonight. The storm is hammering the side of the palace
and I need to go see what the fuck all the banging is
about. I hope to hell my aluminum chimney is still
intact. Hahaha!!!
Yeah, I have a fireplace in Florida, something I have
never ever used.
Good Night All!!!!
Ciao,
Steph
As The Rourke World Turns!!! August 26th,
08'
I’ll tell ya
what, running this web site is at times nothing
more than drama, drama, drama!!! ;) Alrighty,
let me get this show on the road.......
So, for
several hours yesterday our site was down,
due to the fact that uniquelyrourke had
been hacked. This bit of info was
confirmed by our web host. I was told
that their engineer team was going to get to the
root of what was going on. Tisk, tisk,
tisk to the person/persons who decided to shit
on our site. But if ya think about it, we should
be honored that this person/persons felt
so threatened by our fuckin’ kick ass site. But
on the other hand, only someone with an itty
bitty brain would do such a Rourketard thing as
hack a site. It’s unbelievable, these cocksuckin’
maggot-assed fuckwads, thought they could keep
us down.. Wait. There’s more......
Recently,
someone sent us a hate filled message
claiming we aren’t ranked very high in the
Google search engines, therefore our site sucks
(in their opinion).. Fuckin’ A, Heather and I
have a lot to be proud of. We are
in the top 10 and listed at some
of the most primo Indie web sites on the
web. HELLO! Our site speaks for itself, as of
today - over 400,000 hits! My question to those
who are spreading the HATE.. Why do you
keep coming back to uniquelyrourke? Hmm, could
it be because we have the goods on what
is going on with Mickey. Oh well, piss on all of
em’... They aren’t getting any more of my
time...
OMG!
This Is A Total Shocker!!! ;)
The
guest list
for the Toronto International Film Festival
totals 500. Whoa!! Here is a list of some of the
guests who have RSVP’D - Scroll down to the M’s
- you’ll see a familiar name. Yeah, that’s right
- I’m making you work for it... :)
Hmm, who knew??
Haha!! Heather and I did…. Pffft!! Don’t take
what I said outta context. I don’t want ya’ll to
think I’m coming off like some fuckin’
know-it-all bitch who’s shit don’t stink...
EAT
THIS!!!
I’m so glad
that I found this. Mickey has been taking some
hard knocks from so-called Rourke fans
who feel Mickey has done THEM a great
disservice by starring in Aronofsky’s film “The
Wrestler”. Unfortunately, these people are
under the assumption that Mickey is working for
them - not for himself.
Furthermore, these dork’s can’t seem to think
outside the box when it comes to this film
because it’s about a wrestler. Talk about being
shallow minded! In my opinion, either send out
positive vibes or step aside, its
Mickey’s turn in the spotlight. He deserves
it ( Grrrr!!! just know - I’m not finished
with these naysayer’s - by a long shot)
Anywho, here’s
what Aronofsky - who’s been a fan of Mickey’s
work since 91/2 Weeks & Year
Of The Dragon - had to say about Mickey
~
``He's a master of acting,'' Aronofsky told Italian daily
La Repubblica
in an interview published Aug. 21. ``The
movie industry seems to have forgotten that. And
he's always doing different things.''
Once I read that
snippet, I wanted more. So I went to La Repubblica and looked up the article. OMG!! My
Italian is mega, mega rusty. Needless to say, I
had to run it through an article translator. I
do believe you can get the gist of what the
article is about .. Fuck, if my goofy-ass can
understand it, you will too. If there is anyone
out there in Rourke Country who can better
translate, give me a holla!! I don’t bite -
unless you bite first... I’ve also provided the direct link to the article below.
Rourke campione di
wrestling
After what he himself calls
his trilogy (1997: "The Theorem of the delirium",
2000: "Requiem for A Dream" and
2006: "L 'tree of the life" The Fountain),
the American producer Darren Aronofsky,
39 years, returns at Venice with his new
film, The Wrestler. Protagonist Mickey
Rourke, whose passion for boxing and eccentric
talent, represents for Aronofsky the perfect
combination for the role of the protagonist. It is
the story of former champion of wrestling
Randy Robinson that to maintain, steers a
middle course himself at toil showing himself in
small meetings in gymnasiums and schools of New
Jersey. Randy has a daughter that he does not see
ever (Evan Rachel Wood) and a story of
love with an aging stripper (Marisa Tomei),
when a heart attack compels him to regain his life
thru discussion and to challenge in a last match,
his ancient antagonist. After Venice,
The Wrestler will go to the festival of Toronto and New York before
going out in the Usa (and to follow in the world) in
autumn. Aronofsky speaks via telephone from New
York, where living with his companion, actress Rachel Weisz, and their two-year-old son,
Henry. "I wanted to experience something again
and something never seen, first", he says. Why
did he choose actual wrestling? "Because the
cinema, it produced a vein on boxing, while no one
ever realized a serious film on the wrestling
profession, that it is a phenomenon just like
boxing. It is a sport that was, for a long time
thought "pretended" and that instead has an
incredible authenticity". What has he uncovered
exploring the universe of wrestling? "That even
if the results of the matches really are established
in departure, the sport asks for enormous athletic
efforts. They are people that work days to weeks and
do incredible acrobatics to amuse the public. It
then is a sport that becomes always more binding and
violent: introducing martial arts and the athletes
risk a lot physically. It is a small charming world
that the film goers will be pleased to discover". Why
did he want Mickey Rourke? "ALL of THE
cast learns from him. From a child I was a fan of
his, I remember films like "Nine and a ½ Weeks"
and 'Year Of The Dragon ". This film began to
take form in my mind when I thought about him: it
would not have been easy to find an actor in a
position to play a wrestler in as much of a
convincing manner. Mickey is a born wrestler, a true
hard part. He was immediately interested in the role
of Randy by means of the physical challenge
that it asked for, and he put on 15 kilos of
muscle learning the art of wrestling. The boxing
that he knew is completely different: not at random,
boxers do not have much respect for wrestlers, for
them alone the boxing is the true struggle. But
little by little Mickey s' fascinated, until the
point to claim his turn in every individual fight in
the film, not an easy enterprise for a 50-year-old".
Also, is Rourke capable as an actor? "He is a
teacher of the performance! Mickey has an
incredible talent: one the industry of cinema
forgot. And he always does different things".
Why, to his warning, did Rourke leave a career that
would have been able to be phenomenal? "He did
not know how to support the weight of success.
Talent means also to know how to manage it. Very
young actors have been destroyed: at least Mickey is
not dead. And now I hope that the people remember
his force and he prays to god for a second
opportunity". Is it satisfying to return to
Venice? "We are enchanted with Venice:
Rachel and I actually met on the show at the time of
"The Constant Gardner", before love was to be
seen. Then from there we returned together with "L
'tree of the life ...The Fountain".
Our son was conceived in Venice, and now
there we restore it, three years after. I can
imagine how much they are happy to return to us
It’s bedtime..
Shit I'm always saying that to ya’ll... It’s been a waaaay long day....
